NovAI is based in Ierapetra, in Eastern Crete, and regularly works in Chania and across Western Crete. We support old-port restaurants, short-term rentals and international real estate agencies, in English, French and Greek.
Chania is the other major economic pole of Crete, with its international airport, its listed Venetian old port, and tourism volumes that rival Heraklion across the Balos, Falassarna and Samaria area. NovAI extends its reach to Western Crete from our Ierapetra base, with targeted travel for significant projects and remote work for the production phases. We work in English, French and Greek, which matches the three main languages used by tourism and hospitality operators in Chania. Our approach stays consistent with what we do in Eastern Crete, boutique studio at 1 to 3 people per project, French SASU with French VAT for invoicing, firm quote within 72 hours, client-owned source code. Our indirect reference already covers Chania through Crete Direct, the travel guide live on crete.direct that publishes on the western province in 22 languages.
Why AI in Chania?
Western Crete has specific challenges that few local players address with the right tools, and AI lands cleanly on four application grounds. First ground, old-port tourism saturation. Restaurants in Chania and the Venetian port terraces face intense competition with walk-in clientele. Differentiation runs through site quality, fast online reservations, an up-to-date multilingual QR menu, presence on guides like Crete Direct, and AADE myDATA and IRIS compliance mandatory since 1 December 2025. A complete ordering system like the ones we design for Eastern Cretan restaurants can be adapted for an old-port restaurant in a few weeks. Second ground, intensive short-term rentals. The apartment and villa rental market between Akrotiri, Stalos, Agia Marina and Platanias is very active, with often-absent owners managing remotely through Airbnb and Booking. A clean platform with calendar sync, ADR simulator, direct payment, multilingual EN FR EL DE, and electronic contract signature, like Kairos Guest Management does on the east coast, transfers 5 to 10 margin points from OTAs back to the owner. Third ground, international real estate agencies. The sales market on the Akrotiri peninsula, Almyrida and Apokoronas attracts British, German and Dutch clientele. Local agencies still work with frozen tools and websites that are often monolingual or poorly translated. A modern platform with multilingual listings, AI lead qualification, automated mailing on criteria-property matches, and DocuSeal electronic signature for preliminary mandates, shifts an agency competitive position within months. Fourth ground, services to long-stay tourists. Chania attracts a growing community of digital nomads and retirees on long stays. Marketplace platforms for local services, car rentals, private excursions, Greek language schools, medical services, all need a clean multilingual website, Stripe payment and a booking calendar. For each project we keep the same method, business-first scoping before coding, read access to the GitHub repo for the client, weekly Friday demo.
